Lithograph by Henri Rivière Parisian Landscapes - The Trocadéro

This lithograph “Parisian Landscapes - The Trocadéro” is signed by Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the bottom right corner. We note some small ink marks and minimal creases in the margin. There is a small white spot to the left of the signature on the lithograph. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then moved to soft-ground etching, specifically aquatint, in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for shadow theatre at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances with innovative coloured backdrops. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolour (he painted around a thousand watercolours).
