Pair of "interlocking" lounge chairs by Joe Colombo for Kartell

A pair of mid-century 'interlocking' lounge chairs by joe colombo for kartell, italy. joe colombo's iconic 4801 lounge chair was designed in 1963/1964. A visually striking modern chair by the master of space age italian design. A limited number of wooden 4801 chairs were produced in the 1960s, when the technologies did not exist to produce joe colombo's design using kartell's plexiglass material of choice. the original chair was made from a bent pressed plywood seat, back and frame, assembled without metal parts or glue, and painted in period white, green, orange and black tones. the chairs are in very good original condition with minor wear to the edges. please see images for details. no photo of markings. very good condition
