Joe Colombo Pair of Early 4801 Lounge Chairs for Kartell Italy 1964

Great pair of early model 4801 lounge chairs, designed by Joe Colombo in 1964 for Kartell Italy. Both chairs are numbered. The chairs are made out of three interlocking pieces of molded plywood. No glue, screws or nails were used. The design required two years of development prior to its production. The original and very rare cushions make these chairs even more stunning. The off-white leatherette upholstery makes a fantastic combination with the orange wood and give the chairs more comfort as well. This model was produced only for a short time and therefore hard to find and quite rare. The chairs are in good original condition. The cushions are excellent, some loss of paint here and there on the wood.
