Rare assemblage by the sculptor and artist César Baldaccini (1921-1998) From the series "Five-Legged Sheep and Other Rare Birds". Originally glued onto a small paper placemat, itself glued onto a high-quality Arches paper sleeve with the following inscription on the cover: "May 1981 allow you to find the five-legged sheep and other rare birds you seek. César created one, this original collage on lithograph specially designed for the friends of C.L.A." I don't know who C.L.A. Is, but if anyone has more information, I would be grateful. Thank you! Multiple print, collage on lithograph with gold elements, a small piece of wood or matchstick, and a glued-on bird feather. Signed in the plate with the artist's DNA fingerprint. 30 X 40 cm. Two framing options: modern frame (photo #1) or antique frame (other photos), both with a black or white mat (last photo) and protective glass. I also have a magnificent photograph by César, as well as a self-portrait mask made of plastic. César Baldaccini, known as César (1921–1998), was a major French sculptor of the Nouveau Réalisme movement. Known for his Compressed Cars, Cast Resin Expansions, and Imprints, he explored the transformation of matter and industrial aesthetics. His welded metal bestiary reveals a raw humor and instinctive creativity. A popular and innovative artist, he lent his name to the César Awards trophy. A free spirit, provocative and profoundly inventive, César remains one of the most emblematic figures of 20th-century French contemporary art.
