Traditional Japanese Kokeshi doll, made of turned wood and hand-painted. This doll features a typical red floral decoration from the Tōhoku region (northern Japan), with a face that has closed eyes and a beautiful natural patina due to age. The base is signed in brushstroke kanji: 国三作 (Kuni San saku), meaning "work of San", an authentic artisan signature including the character 作 (saku – made by). 🔹 Features: • Origin: Japan. • Region: Tōhoku (Naruko / Sakunami type) • Material: wood. • Decoration: traditional floral painting. • Signature: handwritten under the base. • Estimated period: 1950s–1970s. 🔹 Condition: Generally good condition for an antique piece.
