Napoleon III mirror with rich gilded ornamentation

Rectangular Napoleon III style mirror with a finely carved and gilded wooden frame. The upper pediment is adorned with a highly elegant foliage and rocaille motif typical of the decorative taste of the Second Empire. The solid wood, gilded and copper-plated frame is composed of scrollwork, acanthus leaves, volutes, and a central openwork ornament. At the back, three rings are placed to allow a rope to be hung on a wall. Given its age, this mirror is in good condition; it has been renovated. However, some stains can be seen on the glass, and the parquet flooring is damaged (see photos), all of which are synonymous with authenticity. This mirror, with its sculptural work and harmonious proportions, perfectly illustrates the decorative taste of the 20th century.
