Ornithological lithograph, Gould and Richter, exotic bird engraving

This chromolithograph was produced in 1955, based on the lithographs made by john gould and richter in the 19th century. The engraving here admirably illustrates the sipahi haematospiza, or scarlet sepoy. The male, a bright red, is aptly named and recognizable among thousands, while the female has yellow-green colors. Condition: very good condition, the colors are bright and unaltered, slight paper staining in the right corner, very little visible. Beautiful frame with gilt rod. Dimensions: 31.7 cm X 41.5 cm.
