Antique Victorian chaise longue / méridienne

This antique méridienne (daybed) is a fantastic example of Victorian craftsmanship with Biedermeier influences. The elegant wooden frame is finished with refined carvings in the central crest of the backrest. The sofa stands on classic turned wooden legs, still fitted with the original brass castors. The sofa is upholstered in a deep blue, striped velvet fabric that beautifully highlights the shape of the furniture. The finish with decorative nails along the woodwork and the two included round bolster cushions complete the whole. Perfect as an eye-catcher in a classic living room, a modern eclectic seating area, a stylish hallway or a boutique hotel interior. The bench is in good condition. However, there are some signs of use: there is a small stain in the upholstery (clearly visible in the photos) and the wood shows some damage here and there.
