Original coffee table, designed by Grete Jalk and manufactured by Glostrup Møbelfabrik, Denmark, in the 1950s. This refined table is a remarkable example of Mid-Century Modern Danish design, combining sculptural elegance with exceptional craftsmanship. Grete Jalk was among the most influential furniture designers in Denmark, known for her organic forms, functional simplicity, and timeless aesthetic. Her collaboration with Glostrup Møbelfabrik produced some of the most sought-after pieces of Danish Modern furniture. Made from beautiful teak veneer with remarkable grain, the tabletop features long edges with elegantly sculpted shapes that gently rise upwards, constituting one of the most characteristic details of the design. The slightly tapered solid teak legs give the table a particularly light appearance, while the lower slatted shelf, made of wide teak slats, provides practical storage space for books and magazines without compromising the visual elegance of the table. The carefully executed assembly and high-quality materials testify to the excellence of Danish cabinetry from this era. Condition: Professionally cleaned and freshly oiled. The teak is in very good vintage condition, with a rich natural patina and only slight signs of age-related wear.
