Magnificent antique blue fluid jug/pitcher, by Doulton Burslem, from the 1890s. The piece was designed between 1862 and 1902. It features a deep cobalt blue rose pattern/design on a white background, with gold decoration on and below the rim, spout, handle, and base (see photos). There is a mark/identification stamp on the base, with a crown, which was added to the mark in 1886 to commemorate Henry Doulton's appointment as "Potter to HRH the Prince of Wales." Below the mark, the word "ENGLAND" was added after 1891 (see photos). The piece is in very good original and vintage condition, with very light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with its age, as well as a patina of time across the entire body, lip, handle, interior, and base, which is expected for a piece of its age. No chips or cracks. It has only been gently cleaned, respecting its original patina of time. All photos are taken in natural indoor light, so colours may vary depending on brightness, reflections, angles, and the perspective from which they are viewed. Actual dimensions: Height: 20 cm|Width at handle: 17.5 cm|Depth: 9.5 cm|Base diameter: 12 cm.
