Large table lamp in gilded and lacquered metal with a bouquet of wisteria in silvered and lacquered metal, by Hans Kögl. Likely a creation of Maison Jansen from the 1960s-1970s. Sold without the lampshade. The lamp is in very good condition and the electrical system has been checked. Hans Kögl often drew inspiration from natural forms such as wheat sheaves, Florentine flowers, and wisteria to design sculptural lighting, tables, and various decorative objects. Vintage lamps in gilded metal and Kögl's sophisticated table bases capture nature in a way that goes beyond mere imitation of life - the leaves and other plants in copper and gold-plated artisanal works, free and elegant, require a second look to fully appreciate the designer's deep attention to detail. Kögl worked as a designer for Maison Jansen in the final years of its existence. Collectors and enthusiasts of early 20th-century furniture will find great interest in Kögl's wall sconces and chandeliers for Maison Jansen.
