Round Coffee Table ‚Finale‘ in Travertine by Peter Draenert | Germany 1970s

DESCRIPTION For sale is an elegant and rare ‚Finale‘ model coffee table, manufactured by Draenert in the 1970s. The design impresses with its timeless, sculptural form language and high-quality craftsmanship in natural travertine stone. The round tabletop features a vivid natural grain and rests on a bold, conical travertine base. A thoughtful internal metal construction securely connects the elements: the contoured metal element creates a refined material contrast while giving the heavy stone top a light, almost floating visual appearance from a side perspective. The authenticity of this design classic is verified by the Draenert logo visible on the metal mounting underneath the tabletop, as well as the stamped serial number on the inside of the metal component. CONDITION Overall, the coffee table is in a remarkably well-preserved condition. The natural stone merely shows a slight, authentic patina from decades of use, which highlights the charming vintage character of the piece. There are no chips or breakouts along the edges of the stone, as all edges are fully intact. On the underside of the metal base, there is a small residue of historic filler material. This occurred during the original hand-crafted manufacturing process and does not constitute a defect, but rather serves as an authentic trace of its artisanal creation. The detailed photographs form an integral part of this description.
