This set of six dining chairs was designed by Leslie Dandy for the British furniture manufacturer G-Plan during the 1960s. The chairs are an example of Mid-Century Modern design, combining an elegant form, functionality and carefully crafted woodworking details. The frames are crafted from teak wood. A distinctive feature of the design is the tall, slender backrests, finished with gently sculpted wooden top rails featuring a subtle wave-like profile. Each chair rests on four tapered legs, giving it a light and harmonious silhouette. The seats and backrests are upholstered in black fabric, creating an elegant contrast with the warm tones of the wood. The high backrests and padded seats provide comfort during everyday use. The set has undergone professional woodwork and upholstery restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating and subsequently finished with high-quality Danish oil, enhancing the natural grain of the teak wood. The upholstery interiors of the seats and backrests have also been replaced, and the chairs have been reupholstered in new, high-quality black fabric. Thanks to their timeless design, the chairs are well suited to a dining room or living room, complementing both vintage furniture and contemporary interiors.
