Small decorative bowl on a silver-plated metal stand, adorned on the edge with two miniature rabbits in high relief. The bowl has a low, flared shape, resting on a moulded pedestal. The animal decoration is the main interest of the piece: the two rabbits are depicted very closely together, in a lively and slightly mischievous scene that could suggest a parade or mating behaviour, although the iconography cannot be determined with certainty. The contrast between the simplicity of the bowl and the small sculpted group gives it a character that is both elegant and unusual. The surface retains a marked antique patina, with shades of silver-grey, brown, and slight iridescence. A partially legible square maker's mark is present under the base, which has not been definitively attributed at this stage. Technical details. • Object: decorative bowl / catchall. • Period: mid-20th century. • Origin: probably European. • Material: silver-plated metal. • Decoration: two applied rabbits. • Shape: low bowl on pedestal. • Mark: present under the base, not definitively identified. • Colour: patinated silver, brown, iridescent shades. Dimensions. • Diameter: 14 cm / 5.5 in. • Height of the bowl without decoration: approx. 5 cm / 2 in. Condition. Good vintage condition. The bowl shows significant patina, variations in hue, small scratches, and signs of use consistent with its age. The silver plating is naturally worn in places, revealing the warmer colour of the underlying metal. The two rabbits are well attached and integral to the bowl. The mark under the base remains partially legible. REF: OLDIN00003.
