Champagne bucket Reed & Barton Silver-Plated Lion Head

A handsome silver-plated champagne bowl by Reed & Barton, the renowned American silversmiths. The generous oval bowl stands on a decorative raised foot and has a beautifully shaped rim, with impressive lion-head mounts and swinging ring handles on either side. The classic design has a lovely traditional barware feel, equally suited to chilling a bottle of champagne or displaying as a striking decorative piece. Stamped Reed & Barton to the base, this substantial piece is made with a brass body and heavy silver plating. Reed & Barton has a long history of fine American silver and silver-plated tableware, and its pieces were appreciated on both sides of the Atlantic. It has an attractive aged patina, with some darkening and surface marks from use, particularly inside; it could be polished further to restore a brighter shine.
