The original patina is perfect, very dense, very warm, and it is very original, offering many working possibilities. The solid oak top is slightly inclined to allow documents to be read standing up, and equipped with a lower rod to wedge the documents in question. But it also lifts, revealing a very large storage or work space. The top is stuck in the open position thanks to a small articulated brass arm that is stuck and unstuck in a single movement. On the sides of this space, two small round holes are closed from the outside by small brass buttons. They are very aesthetic but can also be easily removed to let wires pass through, for example. Below, two trompe l'oeil drawers with their superb chiseled and gilded cast iron handle (they correspond to the space under the top); and a third, on the right, very real and functional. Below, an oak door with its working key and lock, opens onto a beautiful storage space. On the left, a lower shelf allows other work tools such as a cash register or decorative items to be placed flat. As it is paneled on all sides, it can be placed in the middle of a room without any aesthetic faux pas. Finally, there are two shelves with worked edges under each shelf. We can see a very discreet restoration of part of the plinth of the middle leg and the plinth on the right side was probably replaced a long time ago (a little lighter). Otherwise, superb condition. The whole is majestic and exudes a strong personality. It will brighten up any room with its atypical presence. Width: 138 cm. Depth: 52 cm. Height: 110 cm on the right / 74 cm on the left.
