Art Deco showcase

This solid oak polished art deco style showcase consists of three glazed sides in beveled glass. The door is adorned with carved floral decoration and a brass lock entrance (original lock in working order). The interior has a glass shelf and a double removable bottom on magnet. The back is dressed in a floral fabric "le petit champs" from brunschwig & fils. Here are the different stages of its restoration: Complete dismantling (structure, windows and hardware) Pickling, leaching and thinning of wood. Manufacture of grooves to replace parts in too bad condition (left rear pillar + top) Cutting of a new back in oak plywood + gluing of the fabric. Inlay of four plates for hanging. Creation of a latte base with oak edges. Revision of the lock and creation of a key. Sanding of the assembly with abrasives of different grains. Application of different finishing products for the protection and final appearance of the furniture (two layers of melter + two layers of shellac + two layers of wax to patina) with ginning with very fine steel wool between each layer. Polishing of the furniture with different materials (cotton, wool and vegetable brush) To put or hang on the wall, this showcase will slip into different rooms of the house and will be perfect to highlight your collectibles, your trinkets or your pretty dishes.
