Brass stair ball

Very beautiful and large staircase ball in brass patinated by time. It will look great on an imposing old staircase banister but can also serve as a decorative object in its own right. Inside the narrowing, it has a thread so that it can be screwed onto a threaded rod which must measure more than 3 cm long (this is the distance between the edge of the foot and the start of the thread). The metal is very thick. It must date from the first half of the 20th century. It is in good general condition but does not hide some signs of its age and its previous lives: a few marks, stains and scratches including several small dents on the ball and the foot. A very small lack on the base of the foot as well as a split of approximately 5 mm along the circular edge of the foot but this does not affect its solidity. The inside of the foot has blue corrosion. It measures 11 cm in height (foot included) and approximately 8 cm in diameter for the ball. It weighs approximately 240 g.
