Plate faience of Sarreguemines

Lovely vintage sarreguemines ceramic plate with a cracked effect, beautifully dressed in a floral decoration surrounded by borders evoking fields. It is stamped on the back: "strasbourg – 11". Sarreguemines earthenware is a ceramic production that developed from 1790 to 2007 in the town of sarreguemines in lorraine. The reputation of sarreguemines earthenware is well established. In two centuries, the small family industry born during the revolution has come a long way. Paul utzschneider and paul de geiger propelled the small town to the forefront of the earthenware industry. Many cheerful and colorful pieces are offered all over the world: vases, pot covers, murals, fireplaces...
