Fireplace mirror in carved oak, Renaissance, dating from the late 19th century. This superb mirror stands out for its richly ornate frame, characteristic of the Neo-Renaissance style. The upper part is topped with a wide overhanging cornice, sculpted with friezes of fluting and repetitive motifs, flanked by lion heads holding brass rings, adding strength and character to the whole. The side posts are decorated with fluting and geometric patterns, enhanced by high-relief sculpted figures representing female figures in drapery, inspired by ancient terms. This decoration gives the mirror a remarkable architectural and sculptural presence. The glass, of beautiful dimensions, offers a generous and luminous reflection, ideal for visually enlarging a space. The moulded base ensures stability and elegance. Period: late 19th century. Style: Renaissance. Material: solid oak, mirror. Condition: good overall condition, beautiful patina, slight signs of use, possibly old glass. Dimensions: h 185 X w 110 X d 15. A decorative piece of high quality, perfect for a classic interior or to add character to a contemporary decor.
