Rare Biedermeier guillotine secretary, made of walnut and marquetry, featuring a balanced architecture and remarkable craftsmanship. The piece is topped with a finely moulded curved cornice, highlighting the characteristic curved line of the style. The upper section opens with two doors revealing a spacious storage area, ideal for linen, documents, or various objects. The central part consists of a drop-down writing surface, revealing a richly appointed interior: a series of small interior drawers arranged symmetrically, a central shelf, drawer fronts adorned with decorative inlays and frames, enhanced with brass knobs and lock entries, giving the whole a discreet and refined elegance. The lower section comprises three large drawers, each fitted with brass handles and lock entries, offering significant storage capacity. The drawers slide easily and have a good depth. The fronts are animated by a carefully arranged walnut veneer, highlighted by curved mouldings. The slightly curved uprights rest on cabriole legs, bringing lightness and harmony to the whole. The piece exhibits a very beautiful old patina, warm and uniform. The condition is very satisfactory, with slight signs of use and age, consistent with the age of the piece, without structural alteration.
