A brilliantly executed and characterful mid-century still life in oil, painted by the established swedish artist eric cederberg (1897-1984), whose artworks have been represented in several public and museum collections across sweden. In this excellent composition, three pears are laid out on a white bowl. Working with a rich and saturated colour palette, the objects appear illuminated. They are set against a backdrop of darker shades including blue, red, black, and green that intermingle, creating a visually striking contrast that makes the bowl of pears stand out more. The artist’s masterful use of the impasto technique adds another layer of depth and texture to the painting.
