Originally from Brittany, André d'Helguen is a ceramist with a distinctive style who worked throughout his career at Keraluc, a pottery company in Quimper. Keraluc pottery is a faience company in Quimper founded in 1946 by ceramic engineer Victor Lucas and active until 1984. Its original style and pursuit of modernity set it apart from traditional Quimper pottery. It has allowed many artists to create original pieces.
