Elegantly carved giltwood mirror in louis XVI style. The elaborate pierced cresting is carved with a central vase, flanked by foliage and bow ornaments. The mirror has a tinted varnish applied to simulate gilding. The frame is topped with a classical vase adorned with twisted ribbons and rosettes. The glass is authentic to this mirror and has a some minor spots, but no mist. (see detail pictures of the glass). With its nice proportions and delicate décor, this louis XVI period giltwood carved mirror will bring a touch of french refinement to any home, particularly hung above a commode, credenza or console table.
