Pair of Art Deco bedside tables in light oak

Fully restored in my workshop in Brittany, these two bedside tables have been reimagined in the Art Deco style. The exterior finish has been removed and the oak slightly lightened to bring brightness, while maintaining the warm appearance of the wood. In keeping with this spirit, gold washi paper has been applied to each side, and the original grey marble top has been modernised with a touch of gold paint. The uniqueness of these bedside tables lies in their rounded shapes, typical of the Art Deco style. It is this aspect that inspired this transformation and served as a true guiding thread. A marquetry of wood and leather has been added to the doors, featuring a symmetrically worked pattern — a bold touch that will enhance a bedroom. The handles have been replaced for a more contemporary finish, and the interior has been cleaned and refreshed with shellac. Please note: these bedside tables show signs of age, particularly on the marble and inside the structure — witnesses to their history and authenticity.
