Art Deco Buffet by Saddier & Fils in solid rosewood and rosewood veneer. French polished. Handles and hardware in solid brass. Characteristic work of F. and G. Saddier for this buffet with tiered crenelated legs, adorned with slightly raised floral motifs. Signed with the manufacturer's metal plate "Saddier et ses Fils". Circa 1925-1930. L 110 cm X D 43 cm X H 92 cm. Interior shelves from top to bottom: L 101 X D 32 X H 39 cm / L 101 X D 37 X H 39 cm. The buffet is in very good condition, just noting 2 small veneer chips on the rear corners (see photo details). Very meticulous packaging in 3 layers (see photos). For a bit of history: Gaston and Fernand Saddier started in the early 1920s with their eponymous furniture factory Saddier et ses Fils, which their father had inherited. Saddier et ses Fils exhibited their furniture at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925. The company Saddier et Fils, specialising in art furniture, seating, and decorations, was based in Paris at 29-31 rue des Boulets, in the well-known cabinetmaker district of Saint-Antoine. An album, preserved at the Museum of Decorative Arts - 107 Rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris, showcases, through six photographs, the works of the Saddier company, including furniture designed specifically for the Palais de la Porte Dorée - 293 Av.
