Art Deco display cabinet in walnut veneer - 1925-1939

Technical sheet. * Style / Period: Art Deco, Poland, 1925-1939. * Material (exterior): Body and shelf veneered in European walnut and walnut burl. Original glass. Structure in softwood and period plywood. Protection: removable tempered glass. * Material (interior): Lower cases veneered in mahogany. Wooden shelf in the display case. * Finish: Hand-rubbed varnish, glossy finish. Base highlighted by a black half-round. * Dimensions: Height 162 cm|Width 123 cm|Depth 46 cm (shelf: 100 X 31 cm). Description and condition. Two-body display cabinet (serwantka) from the Art Deco period. The lower part consists of a buffet with three rounded corner doors, with the facades and top covered in walnut burl. The upper part is a display case with glass on three sides and an internal shelf. The structure is secured at the back with wooden fastenings. This piece was part of a complete set with a sideboard and low buffet. The furniture has undergone a complete carpentry and technical restoration. The structure is stable and the interior is clean. The three original locks are functional with three new brass keys. The original sliding glass has been preserved and shows slight signs of use, confirming its authenticity. The surface of the walnut burl on the top and body has fine natural cracks due to age and the movement of the old veneer on its support – this structure was stabilised during restoration but will continue to move. The main top is protected by a removable transparent tempered glass, cut to the rounded profile of the corners. Not used since its restoration.
