Decorative cast iron plaque from the early 20th century.

Oval cast iron plaque decorated with the allegory of spring surrounded by foliage, cornucopias, chimera muzzles, a cherub's head, and a lion's muzzle. (Size: 38 X 47 cm). This plaque, which likely dates from the early 20th century, was covered in rust, so I deoxidized it and coated it with graphite cream for a beautiful effect. A highly decorative and virtually indestructible object. Although unsigned, I can, from a fairly reliable source, confirm that this plaque was machined by workers from the Compagnie Nationale des Radiateurs, which at that time manufactured the iconic, ornate cast iron radiators that adorned or still adorn opulent Parisian apartments. Be careful, it is quite heavy, around 3 kilos, so if you can come and pick it up, don't hesitate.
