Big mirror, France, 103 x 70 cm

A French Régence-style wall mirror. The gilded frame has taken on a soft, lived-in patina, with the warm wood beneath glowing through the gold along the edges. A delicate beaded border runs along the inner edge, and the glass is bevelled all the way around, catching and breaking the light at its edges. Solid and substantial, of heavy quality. Hanging wire on the back.
