Rocking chair, mid-20th century

Rocking chair attributed to Pastoe from the 1960s. Constructed using a centuries-old method, the slatted back, lacquered black like the frame and arched runners, contrasts strikingly with the smooth, modern, slightly rounded curves of the profiled seat in varnished natural wood.
