Set of 4 white rush dining chairs – Magistretti / Perriand style, 1970s

A light, fresh set of four white lacquered dining chairs with rush seats, made in Italy in the 1970s. These chairs are often attributed to Vico Magistretti for Cassina and sit in the tradition of Charlotte Perriand: simple, honest forms and natural materials. The solid wood frame with its characteristic round posts and the hand-woven rush seat make these chairs both robust and refined. The chairs have been refinished and fitted with new rush seats. Timeless Italian design with natural materials; the white finish gives a summery, airy feel. Beautiful in a Scandinavian, rustic, wabi-sabi or mid-century interior, around a wooden dining table or in a light kitchen. Very good condition, refinished with new rush seats; light signs of use consistent with age.
