Tamaya or bamboo begonia (begonia maculata) originates in central and south america. Its port built around a column and its bi-color leafmakes it an exceptional plant. Its foliage is persistent. It oscillates between bright green and emerald green. It can also be speckled with white and silver. The begonia needs a light exposure without direct sun. Water when surface soil is dry. Beware of the lack of water! Excess moisture will be noticed by the fall of its leaves.
