The object presented in the image is an antique wooden chest or box covered in leather and adorned with brass nails. This type of box, often referred to as a portable box or chest, was used to store important documents, valuable items, or small travel cases. Materials: Internal structure made of wood (fir) covered in dark leather, held together by a dense row of metal nails. The edges of the lid and bottom are decorated with rows of brass or iron nails, which served both to reinforce the structure and for aesthetic purposes. It has a central upper handle made of iron or brass for transport and a front locking mechanism, typical of old handmade productions. The box is complete, except for the key. Period: Late 17th/early 18th century, Italian origin.
