Beautiful Art Deco sauce boat, on a base, made of porcelain from Châtres sur Cher, Manufacture Gaston Sailly. A bit of history: In 1895, Dr. Leloup established a small porcelain factory in Châtres sur Cher. At the beginning of the century, Mr. Dupuits, originally from Limoges, took over the company. Limoges, which gave its name to a renowned porcelain, directly influenced the manufacturing methods of the Châtres-sur-Cher porcelain factory, which prospered in a short time. In 1913, the factory became the property of an industrialist from Courbevoie, Gaston Sailly. France's entry into the global conflict in 1914 marked the halt of production. The porcelain factory resumed operations until the 1980s. The porcelain factory had various names, notably known as Etablissement Gaston SAILLY. In 1945, it came under the direction of Mr. Tiffonnet and became establishments of the same name. This sauce boat is very original, with its pattern and colours. The porcelain is a very pure white, using the same paste as that of Limoges. You will, of course, use it to serve sauce, creams, or savoury biscuits, but also as decoration, to create a lovely seasonal floral arrangement, as a catch-all, or as a small storage solution in a retro kitchen or bathroom. It is in very good condition considering its age. No cracks, chips, or stains. The colours of the frieze are very beautiful. There are some slight fading of the gilding in certain areas, but this gives it patina, charm, and authenticity, proof of the object's history. Height at the ends: 9.8 cm. Height at the centre: 8 cm.
