Sauceboat Bernardaud Limoges "Masterpiece"

Sauceboat with attached plate in Limoges porcelain, Bernardaud manufacture, model "Chef d'Œuvre". Polychrome and gold decoration of flowers and a paradise bird. The plate is bordered with a frieze of chrysanthemums and butterflies in reserves, and the reverse is adorned with red flowering branches. The decoration is inspired by a porcelain from the Chinese imperial manufacture of King-Tö-Tchen from the 18th century. Marks on the reverse: "B & Co Limoges France" and stamp "Bernardaud Limoges – Chef d'Œuvre" with its appreciation mark in Chinese characters ("Precious object like a pearl and like jade"). Very good overall condition: no chips or cracks, gilding and bright enamels. Some missing enamel on the frieze of the plate, see photos. Light signs of use on the unglazed foot. An elegant piece to complete a Chef d'Œuvre service or to set a beautiful table on its own.
