Matching set in Bohemian crystal, including a sculptural vase and a boat-shaped bowl. This model (reference 8533) was designed in 1985 by Jan Juda for the Czechoslovak glassworks Škrdlovice (Studio Beránek), (Vase models 8533/22 and bowl 8533/18). Important expertise point: this series is subject to a correction of historical attribution. It is often incorrectly attributed to the famous glassmaker Pavel Hlava or falsely listed under the name "Pavel Juda" (an erroneous contraction). The archives formally confirm Jan Juda's authorship. The technical execution illustrates great mastery of hot work. On one hand, the Sommerso: an intense fuchsia magenta core is suspended at the heart of a thick mass of transparent crystal. On the other hand, the Bullicante effect: a symmetrical network of fine air bubbles arranged in a spiral animates the material. The free shaping gives the vase an elongated neck with pincers forming two asymmetrical lobed lips, and the bowl a fluid curved silhouette. The thick bases are ground and polished flat. The condition is excellent: the crystal is clear, without chips, and both pieces have retained their original labels "Czechoslovakia - Beranek - Hand Made" intact.
