Rattan wicker pouffe from the 70s with cushion.

Here is a charming wicker pouf straight out of the 1970s. The label on the cushion leaves no room for doubt, stating "made in Thailand, Kapok filling"; Kapok is a natural fibre that was used for stuffing cushions and duvets until the end of the 1970s. Its colour is light brown (coloured varnish), between the two most common shades, honey and dark brown. I have cleaned it carefully and washed the cushion and cover in the washing machine. The pouf is in good structural condition, sturdy, with no broken strands, but it does not hide its age and shows numerous and various signs of use (small stains, abrasions, missing varnish, a few strands partially stripped). The cushion is quite worn: the fabric retains many stains and is missing one of the four buttons, but the filling is still thick and plush. The floral cover, which closes with a Velcro strip, is in generally good condition, with no seams coming undone, few or no stains, but it is quite worn (the colours have likely faded, and there are a few small abrasions on the fabric at the seams). The pouf measures 33 cm in height at the edge and 29 cm in height at the seat (to which the thickness of the cushion (approximately 15 cm when empty) should be added), with a maximum diameter of 45 cm (at the top) and a diameter of 39 cm at the base.
