Beautiful and imposing Empire period commode in mahogany, featuring an elegant architecturally framed façade flanked by two detached columns. It opens at the top with a wide belt drawer, internally compartmentalised, followed by three large drawers fitted with circular pull knobs and gilded bronze lock entries. The sides are accentuated by two significant mahogany columns, adorned with rings, finely chiselled gilded bronze capitals and bases, characteristic of the Empire decorative vocabulary. The façade showcases a beautiful arrangement of flame mahogany arranged symmetrically, particularly highlighting the wood's grain. The whole is topped with a thick grey-black marble slab, adding a beautiful sobriety to this commode with generous proportions.
