Elegant fragment of a female head in terracotta, mounted on a contemporary turned wooden base. This piece evokes the famous tanagreans, greek figurines of the hellenistic period known for their softness of expression and their up-do hairstyle, characteristics perfectly legible here despite the wear. The object has a beautiful mineral patina, matte, homogeneous, with consistent areas of wear (nose, reliefs). No visible modern treatment, neither varnish nor polishing: everything suggests an ancient origin, probably 4th to 2nd century bc, but not certified. The head measures approx. 6.5 cm high. Mounted assembly: 14.5 cm. Ideal for a refined decoration, a collector's display case or an archaeological-style composition. Delivered mounted on a handmade wooden base. Antique object sold without scientific testing (thermoluminescence not carried out), to be considered as a potentially antique fragment.
