Oval-shaped bowl. The side handles are delicately decorated with clusters of grapes and vine leaves. Stylised flowers and foliage adorn the bottom and the scalloped edge of the bowl. Garlands of flowers alternately drape over the bars. A bouquet of flowers covers the bottom. The bowl rests on eight small square feet. Rare model, signed Émile Tessier (1887-1971) on the bottom. Émile Tessier was, through his personality and talent, the most emblematic of the Malicorne pottery. From 1928 to 1971, he created in 1924 one of the most important potteries in Western France, the FAM (Faïencerie d'Art de Malicorne). Trained at Pouplard, Émile Tessier developed a pierced technique that would make his productions famous. Length: 20 cm. Width: 10 cm. Height: 7.5 cm.
