Asparagus service in hand-painted Majolica

This asparagus serving piece in majolica is a unique item of crockery, designed to imitate a bundle of fresh asparagus. Its trompe-l'œil design, characteristic of figurative ceramics, makes it an object of curiosity as well as a serving utensil. Made from glazed ceramic, this lidded container features hand-painted details in shades of green, pink, and orange. The glossy finish of the majolica highlights the sculpted texture of the asparagus stalks and tips, as well as the ties mimicking rope. This decorative and functional object fits perfectly in a rustic-style kitchen or on a table set with originality. It adds a touch of humour and vintage charm to meal presentation. There is a lack of glaze on one asparagus.
