Flame-patterned faience sugar bowl from the pottery of Tamnay-en-Bazois, founded in 1932 by Gaston Gaubier (1894–1971), an emblematic figure of the ceramic revival in Morvan. This piece perfectly illustrates the craftsmanship of the workshop: a decoration achieved through the projection and fusion of metallic oxides, creating a flame-like glaze with deep and shifting hues. Cobalt and turquoise blues dominate, enriched with touches of celadon, diffuse purples, and darker, almost mineral punctuations at the lower part, giving the whole a true visual density. Morvan signature under the base, typical of Gaston Gaubier, confirming its origin and authenticity. In beautiful vintage condition, very shiny. Height with lid 11.5 cm, diameter 10 cm, width with handles 15 cm. A signature piece with a strong presence, ideal for adding a neo-craft and expressive touch to contemporary interiors, between living material and vibrant palette.
