Oil on canvas by the Belgian painter Charles Van Roose (1883-1960), signed "C. Van Roose" lower right. This painting depicts a floral still life of white and yellow chrysanthemums arranged in an emerald green glass vase. The dark background is dominated by the silhouette of an oriental/exotic sculpted figure (probably a Buddha or a deity), a recurring element in the artist's compositions.
