A beautiful classic from the north! This large antique white earthenware platter is adorned with a delicate marine design in shades of blue, depicting a sailboat on the horizon, birds in flight, and a sky crossed by clouds. A very soft wash, close in spirit to the "Marine" model by Moulin des Loups, highly prized for its graphic simplicity. The rim is framed by a blue floral frieze in reserve, adding a touch of refinement to this sober and evocative ensemble. This platter is signed A. Lebacqz & M. Bouchart, a duo that is still little documented, but whose name can be found on several variations of maritime designs in the same style, often attributed to regional productions in the north of France or to special orders for department stores. The spirit is resolutely turned towards the seaside, with an old-fashioned charm typical of the Belle Époque or the interwar period. Good general condition with traces of use and marks of time visible on the earthenware (see photos) Diameter 32 cm.
