Vintage rattan armchair, model 514A, designer Dirk Van Sliedrecht, 1950s

This rattan armchair, model 514A, was designed by Dirk van Sliedregt in 1952 for Gebr. Jonkers in Noordwolde, the Netherlands. It consists of a black metal frame and a high-backed rattan bucket seat, which is connected to the frame by a leather belt at the backrest. The armchair is in very good condition given its age and use (see photos), the rattan has a beautiful patina. The bucket seat is adjustable using the belt located at the rear of the chassis. This model of armchair is quite rare and even more so in this condition.
