Arktis georgshütte vase – ice bark glass, germany 1970s.

A collectible, tall vase from the German Georgshütte glassworks, dating from the 1970s. This model from the Arktis series is an outstanding example of European Organic Modern design and Space Age styling. The vase is characterized by a massive, cylindrical form made of thick-walled, colorless pressed glass. Its unique "Ice-Bark Glass" structure (glass resembling tree bark or a block of ice) creates an irregular, textured surface that effectively diffuses and refracts light. Its austere, sculptural form makes it a striking decorative element in both modern and classic interiors. The vase is in very good vintage condition. The glass is completely clear, free from limescale deposits, dullness, or cracks. The spout rim and base are intact. There may be individual factory-made air bubbles in the glass structure, characteristic of the production technique of this period.
