alabaster table lamp with alabaster globe Italy 1950-60

Rare model of alabaster lamp dating from the 1950s-60s. Rare because of the globe which is also made of alabaster (i have not seen any similar ones here or anywhere else except on very high-end sculpture lamps). Made in italy (the original copper socket is marked "made in italy"). Good condition overall. Usually these alabaster lamps are varnished, this one seems to have been stripped of its varnish at one time (these varnishes yellowed, deteriorated over time and "peeled" in places), there is some left inside the globe. The visual effect is more chic without the varnish... The switch was replaced in the early 80s (given its design and the ce mark that appeared at that time). The lamp works normally and depending on the power of the bulb, the rendering will be more or less soft (the standard bulb used for the test was 40w). Height 41cm -- globe diameter 15cm -- base diameter 11cm. Weight 3.5 kilos. Don't miss this rarity, you won't see one again soon.
