Fine walnut burl bookshelf with brass railing and wheels.

We are delighted to offer this very fine open library shelf in burl walnut circa 1880 with marquetry inlay, a Regency-style brass gallery rail, and original porcelain casters. A highly decorative and well-crafted piece, there is so much to see with this item; it is like a piece of art furniture. The top features a marquetry inlay at the centre surrounded by a Regency-style brass gallery rail, followed by finely carved pillars. The second level is solid with a wonderful grain of burl walnut. At the base, the third shelf has a large cabinet with a glass door in the centre and two additional open shelves. The base includes six turned feet finished with Victorian porcelain casters. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished the piece from top to bottom; there is a dark mark in the upper right back corner, otherwise, it is in very good condition. Dimensions: Height 104 cm, Width 115 cm, Depth 38 cm. Condition: wear consistent with age and use. Slight discolouration.
