A beautiful and substantial French wine cooler with its original matching pedestal tray, made in heavy silver-toned metal and richly decorated with grape clusters, textured vine leaves and elegant gilt flowers. The raised bowl sits on a stepped pedestal and the large tray has a beaded edge with two sculptural gold-tone floral handles. The grape and vine decoration is a classic French wine-service motif, seen on silver-plated champagne coolers from the mid-20th century. A wonderful statement piece for a dining table, bar or country house, with a lovely old-world feel. It has been lightly used and remains bright and highly decorative, with some small surface marks and light signs of age visible in the photographs. The bottle not included.
