Scandinavian Modern Candle Holder in Wood by Gunnar Kanevad, Sweden, Organic Shape

A rare Swedish candle holder sculpture in 'Mid-Century Modern' style made by the famous wood artist Gunnar Kanevad, combining functional design with the character of an abstract figurative sculpture. Hand-carved from a single block of solid pine, this piece features the organic language typical of Kanevad, with complex, undulating shapes giving it a strong sculptural presence from all angles. Two candle holders are integrated into the composition, serving as both a candle holder and a decorative object in its own right. This piece is marked 'Kanevad' and the pine retains a beautiful warm hue with slight natural irregularities indicating its vintage patina. The surface is overall remarkably smooth and well-preserved. In very good vintage condition.
